In reply to:
LOL! Steve, I actually do have a "behind", and it's big enough to be dangerous. I knocked the mirror off my car and also knocked over a couple of bikes in the garage with it. I just have bones that poke through, and the arch of the seat is the main source of pain. My KZ has a flat seat, and I can ride all day on it without any problems. So, I keep looking for something like the KTM comfort seat that is extra-wide and flat, but it isn't available for my SMC. Yet. The gel seat I'm waiting for won't be as wide. If it doesn't come in SOON!, I'll be forced to send mine off to be redone. I just hate to do it, because this bike is so much fun I'll get withdrawls while the seat is gone. I tried finding Renzaco seats, but struck out. Am I spelling it right? Thanks, Lori M.
Here is another temporary option. I think I'm headed for Walmart this evening.
ATV seat cover
Long term I think I'm going to look for a used seat for my bike and see if I can modify it to my liking.

OK, I've finally stopped laughing! My local WM doesn't have one, so I'll try around the area tomorrow- not to many employees around to answer the phone at 11:30 pm!

Anybody know where to get the seat mounting brackets (without having to buy the whole seat) for a 94-04 KX250?

I just saw this thread. I know a guy with a 1999 KTM LC4 (the predecessor to the SM) who has a Corbin seat on it. I thought they only did Harley's and such but it sounds like they have a more expanded product line, so might want to check with them.

My understanding is that Corbin will make you anything you're willing to pay for.....Willsy has one on his DRZ and he swears by it......It's wide and thin as opposed to tall and soft but it works.

OK, I got my seat back from Saddlemen. I sent them the picture of the OEM "comfort seat" from the KTM hard equipment catalogue (wouldn't fit my bike), and talked to them on the phone to make sure they knew what the problem was and what I wanted. They flattened the arch (cause of PAIN!), added a little foam to widen under my rear, gel on top of foam, and a "carbon fiber" vinyl seatcover (so I can move easily). $250 plus $18 S&H. I've ridden it once, and it is such a great improvement over stock! I really like it. I hope to get some more time on it Sun. I'll try to post a photo later... Let's Ride!
