Yep, TORCS has just added another option for you true die hard's. More information will be coming soon.

Right now the race date/locations are:

Rev's (Bastrop) - July 14/15
McMahan Ranch (Smithville) - August 4/5
Coushatte (Belleville) - August 25/26

I really love all 3 properties, but have never done a Sprint Enduro. Sounds interesting.

Air conditioned? Die hard does seem appropriate.

I've done 2 sprint enduros and there lots of fun because all your doing is racing the clock and not the slow guy in front of you. A sprint enduro is just that you are racing the clock with the fastest time not a group of guys all together in the woods. So if your the guy who complains because you didnt get a good start, or you got stuck behind some slow guys, couldnt see because of the dust, etc etc etc this is the race for you because all your doing is racing yourself and the clock. You are still set up in different classes but the guy with the fastest combined overall lap times for each class wins. The 2 TSCEC sprints I did were 5 laps, 2 laps on 1 course and 3 laps on different course and you only have to do 1 lap at a time then go back to your truck and rest then go out do another lap when you are ready, they will tell you how much time you have to finish if its set up in a similar manner.

ok, i did one of those near Bastrop once. It was a Houston Trail Riders deal. You still end up with alot of people on the trail in C class. the rest option was nice in hot weather. lets do it.

I've done the TRH TSCEC sprint enduro the last 2 yrs in September at Brunes Mill in Columbus, TX and its not far from the TORCS Coles Fun pit race if you've done that one. You will still see guys on the trails and stuff but nothing like 30 people taking off at one time and trying to fight your way thru. All the classes for that race went during that race and was no order of classes just get in line and go. Once they opened the start gate I would usually wait about 15-20 mins to go for lap 1 to let the "die hards" (GM/JK) take off and let the line go down some. They would line up in a single file and let each one go about every 15-20 seconds or so prob. Not sure how the TORCS one will be set up but thats been my experience. I recommend the TRH one in September its set up on 2 different courses. One course is very TORCS hare scramble style set up and the other course is a lot more fast paced enduro style and you also dont have to be a member or any of that stuff so you can just pay and race for the TRH sprint event.
