Very few will have the opportunity to speak but we still need you present.

The meeting is by the BCCP Board:they approve or disapprove BCP staff actions. This time BCP staff is trying to pass a policy that would close our park for half of the year.

Attached is a map to City hall, once in the building ask for ?City Council Chambers?

Park in the basement of the building and bring the parking stub with you for free validation. "

Last time the BCP found out a bunch of dirt bikers were showing up and they canceled the meeting at the last minute. They are trying to slide this by us at the last minute.

So what happened?

They postponed the vote until the new year. Stay tuned.

There was a very good showing. Several people spoke to the Committee, making it quite clear that the Committee was being mislead by BCP Staff and that the document they were to act on needed work. They instructed BCP Staff to address the concerns that were presented during the meeting and present a revised document for consideration in early 2018.

The down side is that the one Committee member that has been supportive of our concerns is being replaced with a Commissioner that is very much opposed to our concerns, so the deck will be heavily stacked against us this next go-round. It will be imperative that another strong showing is made once a meeting date is determined. That information will be provided as soon as it is available.

Late notice but the BCCP Coordinating Committee is meeting tomorrow morning at 10am at the City of Austin main council chamber and the Park Access Plan is on the agenda. I will be in attendance and plan to speak to remind them of the desires of the offroad riding community. If you have the time maybe swing by and share three minutes worth of your thoughts on the topic with the committee.
