Hey Gumbs! Most of us are still around and ride when we get a chance. I am retiring from the job on the 25th and plan on doing a lot more riding and traveling with all the free time. Holler at me when you feel the need to till some soil.

Still ride? we build them over here when we aren't riding. Drex designed and built this Micro Mini. It's a weeedeater engine and razor scooter parts. The rest he fabricated. He used a jack shaft to do the gear reduction and get the drive to the rear wheel so he wouldn't have to offset the engine. Not the fastest thing around but pretty cool. Built it for a school project. Teacher was impressed.

Here's a link to a video of it in action.

If you look close you will see he used an extra long bolt for the front axle to double as foot pegs too.

This is in the "just finished roughing together" stage. he plans on cleaning up the welds and paint. He also added a bicycle brake lever to work as the throttle. That's not in the picture or on the video.

In typical Drex style, no brakes.

Impressive! No brakes. Reminds me of the movie, Cannonball Run, where the guy rips the rear view mirror off and says "what is behind us is of no consequence," LOL!! Drex is well on his way to be a mechanical engineer. A young friend of ours just graduated from UT this weekend with a M.E. degree and already has a job waiting for him to build performance engines for Ford in Deerborne. I told him that was awesome because Ford needs all the help they can get, HA!!!

Dave D . . I heard you were retiring . . . and Penny too. Congrats.
Doug P . . I couldn't catch you even if you rode with your hands in your pockets!!!
Paul M . . Yea, I still have my pair of 2-smokers. Sold all the street stuff, just couldn't give up the KX's.
Dave W . . Is THAT you little boy? He ain't little any more. Damn it has been a long time.

I have been thinking about retiring. Trying to swing a condo in Texas somewhere and a beachfront place in Manzanillo, Utilla, or Cayo.

Just do it man, we've got to get in all the fun we can while we still can. Everyone we know that has retired say it was the best thing they ever did. The key is staying busy and off of the couch. That's easy enough to do and the reason why I will never sell off any toys as long as I can enjoy them.

Hey Martin...glad to hear you are thinking of hitting the trails again!! Been waaaaaaaaaay too long there Mister. I will help you go through the ol' KX if you like. I don't have mine anymore, but I explored every single nook and cranny while I had it. We will all do what is needed to get you back on 2 wheels!!
