Would any of you happen to know a good place in the Austin area to rent an RV? We are looking for one for the July 4th weekend, and would prefer one that is "all in one"...not one taht we have to tow.

I found one place, but wanted to check here to see if anyone knew of a place that they've had a good experience with.

Hey Twyla, I am not sure of the name but there is a large RV rental place on East Ben White/71 just west of 183 on the north side of the road. They have quite a few late model Class C and big Class A rigs for rent on their lot.

or a bit closer to you ... there is one on hwy 183 between Leander & Seward Junction that my bro inlaw / sis inlaw rented a huge diesel pusher to take to Reno for some PRCA national level roping... towing a 3 horse slant trailer...

probably more than you need (or want to pay for the rental or fuel ) ... they seemed very pleased with the rental and dealing with the dealer ... but that's been a couple of years back too.

I believe there is also one on IH35 west access road in Georgetown (just south of Inner Space Caverns) that does rentals too but I don't have any personal experience with them...

Thanks Marcus...We were planning to go with a class C, but as much as we are going to be OUTSIDE, I'm wondering if it's worth it and not just go with a pop up.

which ever route you end up going... an A/C & bathroom as a minimum is my recommendation. alot just depends on if it's just the 3 of ya'll or if you plan on taking additional kids???

which park are ya'll thinking of going? do they take reservations? if so, you probably need to do that immediately for a holiday weekend!!!

likewise, there is a really awesome fireworks display down in Kingsland with a boat parade the afternoon / evening of the 4th on the Llano river branch of Lake LBJ. they used to have a family style street dance too.

also a fun 1/2 to all day trip is to the Llano slab depending on water level that time of year... all sorts of fun little free things all around there indeed (I grew up in that area)... and if ya'll are taking your street bikes, some really nice backroads to explore.
