Emma Long mc park has approximately 7 miles of technical single track riding. Tons of elevation change with rocky up and down hills. some of those have 1 and 2 foot ledges that can be a challenge to the beginner. Trails are wide enough not to need bark busters but I would recommend them. the dirt is mostly hard packed with very little to no sandy areas. When it's wet you'll have a mix of perfect traction in some areas then very slippery in others.

After you ride Emma Long a few times every other trail will seem wide opened and easy.

let me know if you plan to make it out and I'll meet you there to show you the trail.

It depends on how motivated you are to ride some really technical trails. a day of riding City Park will Whoop your A##. Most people only ride about two loops and call it a day. So driving 3.5 hours to ride 1.5 to 2 hours is your call.

Good thing is Cross Creek MX and Del Valley MX parks are 45 mins away. So I would suggest if your going to drive all this way to go riding you might want to hit City Park first thing in the Morning and a MX park in the afternoon.

Or wait for a weekend that AMSA is holding a family day and ride city park and hit the family day.

What ever you do let me know and I'll show you around.

thanks for all your input! we like really long trails. 75 miles a day is the min! not much into tracks since i got HURT about 4 years ago! nobody else too pay the bills if something was too happen??maybe one day. can you camp here? i'm sure i could make a good weekend out of it if i can camp close by? once again? THANK YOU!!

If you follow City Park Road all the way down, there is camping along Lake Austin. I don't recall the fee but I think it is under $10 per day. They have primitive sights as well as RV sights. However, it does get filled pretty quickly at times.

The map link doesn't show the road ending in Lake Austin.....but it does. To get to the campsites stay on CP Rd (instead of turning left to Emma)

Doesn't cost anything to ride the trails.......word is.........if you can ride City Park.......you can ride anything in Texas.

Sorry Kollerman, Quads and ATV are prohibited to ride on the trails at City Park. If your interested in finding a place to ride up here, Cross Creek motocross park in bastrop has some really fun trails to ride that are open to ATVs. They have a Forum in the MX park section. Shawn is the owner he is very cool and will fill you in on the details.
