Okay, here's the scoop.
I, along with a few other members are on one of the 2 mx track committes. (I'm on the "A" or "SX" track committe which is the original track) A few months ago we got together and planned to split the track and add several new sections to the A track. It was to be a bigger jump, more obstical filled coarse yet at a slower speed. The problem has always been that you can never satisfy everyone but being that we are a chartered club with a committe and all, we have to try. The back section of the track was to become the "B" track, more old style mx. It will be faster but more turns and less high-flyin' stuff. We hired a track builder that does tracks all over the southwest and is a very good track designer. The guy goes out and spends 80k on a new dozer and starts to work, doing the "B" track 1st. He gets most of the track complete, except for the new sections that you haven't seen, and we are rapidly approaching our budget limit of 15k. Over to the "A" track he goes. Not long after he starts that project, the dozer goes down and the rains came. A few weeks later the dozer is fixed and the rains let up. He pushes some more dirt around and the dozer goes down again. To make a long story short, the dozer has been in one spot with the final drive out of it for more than a month and the neither track is finished and none of the additions are made. This week the club rented a couple of tractors and at least tied the A & B track together making it possible to run the entire tracks as one. The tie in was routed around the dozer that is still sitting in the same place. (By the way, the damn dozer is under warranty)
Plans are to run some classes on one track and some on the other but optimally run some classes using both tracks as one continious track.
Don't know if you are aware but Baker broke his leg at the PC race in Whitney a few weeks ago. He's getting around as well as any mxer with a broken leg, can't keep a good man down! Even one as honery as Baker

My company has an office in Corpus and I sometimes have to go there and to the Valley. Always looking for a place to ride so next time I'm that way I'll try to look you up.
