Not sure on the 250R but my 450R was taxed going down the highway at speeds over 70 mph.

the transmission started to make funny sounds. But didn't have any failures.

The 250R would be the same.. I wouldn't do long hwy speed trips with it. but buzzing back and forth to school should be fine.
