the pw is great but your kid is probably a litte tall and will outgrow it as soon as he can ride it...id go with a xr 50 or if you think he might race then the ktm jr ADVENTURE or a polini AIR cooled x-1 are great bike as they are a little taller and have the suspension to jump without worrying about outriding the suspension and they are auto tranny just twist and go...
