Is there anyone in Corpus Christi who knows of some good places to ride around here?
Are there any tracks in town?
I'm near Padre Island.

Thanks

PS. Why did the admin set the forum to allow everyone access member IP addresses?

What type of riding? There are a few MX tracks just outside the city limits of CC and then there is Holeshot oustide of Goliad which also has trails. Here are their links.

DDMX near Alice

Holeshot near Goliad
http://www.holeshotmxpark.com/

Xtreme near Bishop
xtrememxtrack.com

The other track is C&R MX near the community of Clarkwood just off HWY 44 out past the airport

Check the local site below for more info.

Great info, thanks Dave.
In the future we should set up some sort of meet for Corpus Christi MX riders only.

Not legally. I haven’t seen sand rails or for that matter any kind of non registered - non street legal vehicle of any kind on the beaches down here since the mid – seventies. The only four wheelers allowed are the Feds when they cruise the beach counting turtles. Have you checked out West Texas Baja.

Dave, I picked up my KX500 since my last post and I'm trying to figure out which track I should go to.
Extreme MX seems like it might be the closest, what do you think?
Can you give my directions a quick read and see if they are fairly accurate?
I did some web searches and browsed MapQuest to piece together the information below.

These directions should be good for anyone coming from Corpus Christi.

--------
Xtreme MX Track
Contact: 361-584-2770
xtrememxtrack@yahoo.com

Directions:
EXIT Ayers
LEFT on Ayers to Chapman Ranch
Slight left in road then Right on 892
Track is on the right

Open: Saturday and Sunday 10AM-Dark
FEE: $10
--

--------
DDMX Track
Contact: Gene 361-688-7601

Directions:
From SPID Take CC Airport/Robstown EXIT to Highway 44
Follow highway 44, then take a left at Highway 77
Down 77 there will be two very large storage tanks on the right, FM2826 is immediately after them and easy to miss.
Right on FM2826
Right on FM666
Left on CR32
Right on CR93
Left on CR32
Left on CR97
Track is a couple miles down CR97 on the left.

Open: Friday, Saturday and Sunday
FEE: $5 for regular track
--

--------
CR MX Track
Contact: Roland
361-949-2369
361-688-0314

Directions:
Continue down SPID, do-not take crosstown.
Take CC Airport/Robstown EXIT
Left on CLARKWOOD (FM2292)
Turn right onto CR36.

Open: Mon & Wed 5:30am-10:30pm??
Sat 8:30AM-1:00PM
FEE: $10
--

Except for the Xtreme MX website, word of mouth and through forums like this one seems to be about the only way to get info for these tracks. Will you be riding these tracks this weekend?

Your directions look good. Xtreme is the closest, (I recall you live on the island) for you. Yeah, DDMX can be a little trouble to find the first time out. Hopefully, it won't be too wet over the long weekend. I heard Alice got hammered. I plan on calling Xtreme Saturday to see what's up.

Did you check this site. Locals visit it.

This place is outside of Goliad. The dirt is awesome compared to our black gumbo.

Dave, DDMX is OPEN TODAY (friday) and I'm leaving to head out there in a few hours.
If you are up for some riding the day after turkey day come on out!
I should be the only guy out there on a KX500, and hopefully I won't be riding like a newbie even though I've only had the bike a few days.
I sure hope I'm not the only one out there!!

Went to DDMX yesterday, met Gene, rode for 3 or 4 hours. It's a good fun track and there's something for all skill levels. It costs $5 to ride on the regular track or $10 for the Supercross track.
The directions I posted were easy to get lost with, so here are some revised directions:

DDMX Track
Contact: Gene 361-688-7601

Directions:
From SPID Take CC Airport/Robstown EXIT to Highway 44
Follow highway 44, then take a left when you come to Highway 77
Continue down 77 and just watch for two very large storage tanks on the right, FM2826 is immediately after these tanks and is easy to miss.
Right on FM2826
Right on FM666
Left on CR32
Right on CR93
Left on CR32
Left on CR97
The track is a couple miles down CR97 on the left.
Total distance from the Padre Island area was 44 miles.

Open: Friday, Saturday and Sunday
FEE: $5 for regular track
