Just wanted to give everyone an update on Jon Jacobs. He had a freak accident during the open class on Sunday. He put his leg down to turn (it was kinda slick) and ended up with a twisted break in his femer.

He was taken care of by the paramedics at the track and was care flighted out. His surgery went well Sunday night and he hopes to be back home in Tyler today.

Thank you so much for everyone who stopped to help and to the medics! You all did a great job at keeping him comfortable.

Please keep he and his family in your thougths and prayers. They are great people and we will miss camping with him.

I was wondering how he was doing. We helped divert the racers away from him while he was down. So glad to hear his surgery went well. Thoughts and prayers to his family!

Did he stick his leg out and catch it on something? Did he have on knee braces? ( i think they cause more harm than good sometimes...)

That is an odd injury and I sure hope things go well. i worry for any one who has to fly out from the races and there have been helicopters at a lot of races this season regardless of the series.
