David started with us in late 2012, with 2 DNF's and then two finishes to end the year. He started '13 with a DNF and then started, and finished all the remaining rounds. Pretty impressive for a double decade racer. He got on the podium at LaMarque. I'll miss seeing him on that blue bike. I'd like to see him on the flyer.

Here is the funeral info.....

Dave Smith's funeral will be on Thursday at 10 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in San Marcos. The address is 120 Suncrest St, San Marcos, tx 78666

Whether or not you knew Dave or not we all mourn the passing of one of our Moto brothers. The Bible tells us to mourn with those who mourn. So as family and friends mourn the loss of their loved one all of us that stap on a helmet and throw a leg over a bike because we share the same love and passion for riding as Dave did also mourn. The Bible also says that we are just a mist a vapor in time.... From all the reports from friends and family Dave lived that time with a smile and gentle heart.... So although our flesh morns we can rejoice and celebrate Dave's life.... We rejoice in knowing he ended his time on earth doing one of the things he loved most..... So to Heidi and all Daves family and friends I think I can speak for all of the TORCS family and say we are here for you and that we are deeply grieved by his passing while also so very blessed to have Dave as part our race family and we are honored to have shared the trail with him. God bless
