I know how to have posts emailed to me but is it possible to post on TON from my email? Or to reply to a post I get in my email? Like the Yahoo groups?

Unfortunately, no...we don't have that kind of feature yet. One thing we do run into often is people who have come from an older mailing list community like Yahoo choosing to use "notify me of new posts by email" and they don't realize they can not reply back by email.

If you are going to suggest to your club members to sign up for email notifications, you MUST make sure they know they must use the LINK BACK to the website in order to reply...just like you do with Facebook or other community websites.

The best option is to add a link directly to your club website that opens the message board here on the TON ...so your club members automatically go to the club website and link from there to the forum here.

If you look at the work Admin Bud Hutchison has done for club websites, you'll see we also can create a feed directly onto your website that shows the latest topics on the forum as a list, just like a news feed....so users can scan the news and link to whatever topic interests them.

I've actually done the email posting for another Threads forum. It is still in use. It is a real pain not only in keeping current with the forum table changes as software is updated but also dealing with auto-responders and spammers. Parsing emails is just not fun. I think it would benefit your members if we could get them to the forum. That way they could see other events going on around the state.

Would it help if we could provide a link in the email that would log them in and go straight to the post reply form? I have not used the email notification feature in some time. It probably already has the link to reply. We could add the automatic login if that would help and it is not currently supported. If we think about it, I bet we could come up with something even better than what is available now.
