I wasn't going to say anything PrinterGuy, but now that you bring it up. I really liked it when you threw up your hands at the end. That would make a great photo to add captions to.

I just did a cost comparison for TCCRA and Torn

TCCRA vs. Torn

Transponder $ 20 $ 25
Gate $ 6 $ 8
Vehicle $ 5 $ 5
Bike $ 6 $ 6
Race entry $20 $ 25 1st, $15 2nd class
Membership $ 25 $ 20

Total at your
1st race if you
have no
transponder $ 82 $ 89 only one class, $104 if you race 2 classes

Typical race gate
fees after
tarnsponder &
membership $37 $ 59 racing 2 classes

Torn is higher, but my plan is to race the races in each organization that are close to me.
Off course this is all based on one racer, the fees dont scare me and I plan to try some TORN. I'll probably end up racing both and just pic the races close to me. I like the edition of TORN and TORO, TCCRA was getting too large.

Just checking? Does my TCCRA transponder also work for the TORN scoring?

Also I race over 30 INT., not much of a way for me to race 2 classes accept on the same day?
Thanks Dylan

Yes, it works with three series. Just make sure you get it programed EVERYTIME.

Don't forget if you race 2 classes in tccra you need 2 memberships and there is not a discounted entry fee for racing 2 classes.................And you only get one vote at the meetings even if your a double member..........Yeah that still bugs me BUT I'm gonna go race tccra this weekend if my bike is fixed

Yes The same transponder for both series.

No chance of racing two classes in one day. Sorry. When you get older you will have more choices.
Until then you can race Saturday at 4:00 sportsman intermediate. Then Sunday all intermediates race together, so you have class chioce but all at the same time.

But you also get an hour more practice on Sunday morning.

Not trying to cause trouble but one major advantage on TORN for me at least. I practice and race on Saturday, Sunday I am home with my family. That is one MAJOR reason I love this series. MY family does not race. If I had to come back or sleep over I could not afford to race. I would love to try out TCCRA but the Saturday practice and Sunday race format just does not work for me at least.

Thanks to Curtis for a wonderful race series and the opportunity to practice and race in the same day so I can partake in the fun.

My family is in it's second year of cross country racing here in Texas. We have been competing in TORO and TORN. I have to wonder why you can't schedule TORN and TCCRA on non-conflicting weekends? It seems to me that most families would probably race both series, especially when TORN is only one weekend a month. I personally think that this feud between the two organizations is ridiculous and doesn't benefit anyone but the owners (bragging rights) over attendance only. It seems that it would be better to have everyone race both series. I know that we would probably attend both if on seperate dates. Just my 2 cents.

TCCRA had their race dates for 2009 posted in 2008. Torn chose their race shedule to compete with TCCRA. TCCRA and TORO always work together to insure that race dates and banquets do not confict.

I don't know that you could really work them all out. I haven't taken the time to look into it hard enough to know for sure, but If TORN was to schedule around TCCRA. Would that conflict with TORO? I don't know that you could really run 3 series at one time. It sure would be fun though. Never mind I would have to get a second job to afford to run them all. Then I wouldn't have any time to race.

Wow Charles I thought you were no longer the PR guy for TCCRA...

The way TCCRA has their rules written for the schedule they have their dates set up from here on out until the end of time. So with that being said it was bound to happen some day with TORN, TORO and anybody else that may come along.

Curis has explained his reasoning for the schedule many times.
What's done is done. Get over it and go ride.
