Hello, my wife and I and a couple of our friends wanted to come up to Muenster on Feb 14-15 to do some camping and riding. I saw on the Red river website you have to call for reservations to camp?Is this correct?

A couple questions I have are:

Is there power hook ups?
If not are we free to camp anywhere on property?
Can we ride on last years LMS course for fun?
Can we have campfires?

Thank you.

They do have a few power hook-ups, I think they are first come first served. If you have a generator I would go with it, it gives you more options for camping spots. Unless there is a burn ban you can have fires, they have fire rings.
They are a member facility now so you can't go during the week or get there on Friday and camp like you used to be able to do and it costs a little more to ride. You can't get in before Sat. morning. No reservations are required to camp on Sat. night but you will have to pay camping fee. You will have to leave on Sun. because, once again, you have to be a member to be there any day during the week.

Thanks for the quick reply. We were planning on coming up fri and leaving Sunday evening maybe we'll camp outside the gate fri night. I take it we can camp pretty much anywhere in the property on sat night? Is all the property open to the public?

If you're from out of town you don't have to be a member in order to get in during the week. Just tell her you're from out of town and it shouldn't be a problem. That rule only applies for "local yokels" as it was told to me.

That's news to me...must be something new. The last time I called to try to get the gate combo I told her we were about 3 hours away she was very clear that we had to be a member to get in on Friday night. I guess we will see next time! It would be awesome if it is like you say, we haven't gone back because it is a killer to leave EARLY Saturday morning and have to leave Sunday because we are so far away.

Sorry I didn't answer the other questions. There are designated areas that you can camp. Back in the day it was a little more open as far as where you could camp but times have changed a little. As far as open to the public I don't know. I guess if they pay the fee they could???
