It is not legal to ride in the Red River or on the sand bars. It is okay to ride the trails along the high banks and in Mountain Creek. Once you drop off the high banks onto the sand bars you are in Oklahoma.

In reply to:
you are in Oklahoma.
I know 'bout "Bill's Woods" & was recently subjected to the "Old School" trails but I've never heard of this Oklahoma. Where is this mysterious Oklahoma at?

I am not sure if it is state or federal but I am fairly sure that if you are caught in the river that your motorcycle/ATV can be confisicated and you are subject to a substanical fine. You may be able to find out more at: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/Cooke County Sheriff (Texas) Mike Compton County Jail 301 S. I'd listen to Trailgage on this.
Nobody wants to pay one of those 'substanical' fines!!

I did notice signs coming in to the park that said something about not crossing the river ,, cuz of tresspassing !! I was also not impressed to find that riding had to end at 6 pm ,, as i found out the hard way !!!! I was pretty sure the page of rules said no riding after 9 ,, not 6 ,, but ohh well .. Great. They tell you not to ride in the river but since everyone else is doing it, you choose to. The proper thing would be to report those people to the park attendant.
If you guys don't start following the rules (whatever they may be) we will all end up with no place to ride. Don't you understand the consequences of your actions? There is a direct cause/effect relationship here.
