i know this is an old post but I wanted to add another positive for the tent thing. We spent a week in Ponca City racing with a tent and a 2500w genny. I hung a gas can in a tree and put a 1/4" barb epoxied on the bottom and fed a hose to the gen fuel line. we could run a solid 7 hours on a tank of gas. In the day it was too hot to hang out in the tent but at night it was so cold we had to zip up the sleeping bags. Our tent was open on the top. Should have used the extra blanket idea.
We weren't the coolest guys in the pits...but at least we were cool.
