Yes it can race in the 85 MINI Class. You might check around and ask different people that have them or have had them before purchasing one. We got my son one for Christmas. This bike was awsome very fast and lots of torque but he could not ride it good. It would stall out and takes FOREVER to crank, it weighs more than an 85 therefore when he wrecked it was harder to pick up and he could not manover it through the woods as well. He just wasn't comfortable on the bike so now we own another RM 85L.

Thats has been my concern. My son is not that big and if he is tried is he going to be able to crank it. I think by the end of the yr. he should be alright. Are they really hard to crank after they get warmed up? They say since they changed the cams (after the recall) there easier to crank. Thanks for the info.
