East of Red Rock- follow 245 to Sand Hills (dead ends, but really neat). Maybe 306, 307, 310? North of Bastrop and Buescher State Parks-146, 153, 158, 159, 196... NW of Bastrop- 157, 179 (thru Steiner Ranch), 48, 49...
There's a road that runs from Paige to Elgin, parallel to and north of 290 that's part dirt, nice and relaxed flow.
