DIRECTIONS

The track is 20 miles northwest of Houston. Take Hwy 290 northwest from Houston or from I-45 take FM 2920, in Spring, west to Hwy 290. At the 290-2920 intersection, take Mathis Road south to Old Hempstead Hwy. Look for the track on the left, on the far side of the road, across the railroad tracks.

LAYOUT

There is a 1.0 mile day track and a 0.6 mile night track. The terrain is mostly flat with man-made supercross-style obstacles. The soil is sandy loam and well maintained. The 290 track is best known for it's jumps. There are numerous doubles, stepups, stepdowns and tabletops. There are lots of big berms and two sections of whoops. There are concessions and bleachers which offer a view of the entire track, plus a covered viewing area for rainy or hot weather. The pits and parking offer a large open area.

BACKGROUND

The owner of the 39-acre parcel of land built the track in 1993 for his son. Jeff Dement, Caleb Leath and Pedro Gonzales are a few of the riders who have congregated at 290 to hone supercross skills.
