P.S. made sure the clubhouse and everything look'd gud before leaving even though i wusn't the last to leave...i'm tired of being yelled at by Juliet and Toby! :-p Thank you for cleaning up,Kenny & I appreciate the help that your gang have put in at Skull Creek so this is not aimed at you at all but it brings up a point that Toby & I were discussing on Monday
[color:#000099].....We're tired of being the club A....holes or,as a rather drunken member told me to my face "Hitler"! We went down there hoping for a pleasant relaxing Labor Day weekend with our families & friends & didn't wish to have to "police" the campground & get stressed out. Why can't parents see that their own kids behave & follow the park rules? -Teenagers zipping around camp at 30 mph -Adults riding around camp with no helmets - great example to the kids! - People riding in shorts & flip flops. -Riding in the gravel zone -Kiddies constantly riding the camp circle even after they had been told to use the tracks. Will it take a truck backing out to T-bone & kill one of them to stop it? -I even had to stop a small child (approx age 7) riding double with a another yet smaller child(3 ?) with BARE legs & feet! For heavens sake! Where has basic common sense gone? The rules at Skull Creek have evolved for a reason - to prevent accidents & to protect our riding area for the future.
As for cleaning the cabin ...it's just basic common decency. Our "job" doesn't pay that well to have to go in after you lot, unblock the toilet, clean the grease off the stove,& (on some weekends) wash-up dirty pots & take all the trash home.In fact,it doesn't pay at all. Everyone is a volunteer!
So while you are moaning at us remember you were out riding trails that Toby or Marcus had fixed with the BobCat & I'd mowed. If there are a few face-slappers,we're sorry but we haven't had time to get all of them.A relatively small bunch of us have worked hard in the last twelve months trying to rebuild & add to the trail system & get all the facilities up & running.I hope all you complainers will show up on the work weekends that are coming up & lend us some muscle. Opportunities to help out in the near future:- Caney Creek Enduro at New Waverly School Sept 12-contact Lynn Bailey Work Weekend #4 Sept 25/26 Work Weekend #5 Oct 2/3 HS Race Weekend Oct 9/10 Eric needs help checking over the track on Saturday & marshaling on Sunday & help with cleaning up after the race - mainly taking down orange fencing & yellow ribbon. Anyone who has not done any trail maintenance in addition to their TRH work days by Eric's race stands to lose their spot for next year. (Toby has a very accurate list running of who has done what!) Now with fewer places to ride,we have a waiting list of people anxious to join Skull Creek so, after the members in good standing have renewed their memberships, those on the waiting list will be offered any vacant spots first.

And I thought our club only had those problems! We have 136 members and the same 23 people do all the work. It really gets old and it takes all the fun out of a really fun sport. We have 95 miles of trail that is being taken care of by about 5 people, so I really feel yalls pain. We will going down for yalls race on Staurday, hope to meet some of yall.

Hey Trouble, Ya'll are ahead of the game...statistically it is 10% of a volunteer organization who do all the work! See you Saturday. Rena

I want to personally apologize if my family contributed to any of the above issues. I was constantly charging my older kids to slow down around the "circle". One of the little ones circling around was my 8 year old daughter. I have worked with her alot but she is still not ready for trails. I want to follow the rules and I truly want the Sartor family to be in excellent standing in Skull Creek and understand some of your concerns. We also believe that you should leave it cleaner than it was and though we don't use the clubhouse, would definitely clean up if we did. I have already done one work day and am planning on others in the future. So, let it be known that the Sartor family (Todd, Lisa, Kelsie, Emily, and Hailey) all value and appreciate your work and will be there to contribute one of the next workdays. Thanks.
