How cool was that? It's always nice to see someone on TV and be able go, "Yeah - I've hung out with him." That place looks GORGEOUS! Would LOVE to see it in the spring-fall! Well done Ray! I know Aaron still gives you A LOT of credit for his improved skills! Miss ya and hope all is great up in TN!

I hope they repeat this episode so I can catch it. Just heard about it. Ray is one of the best and most versitile riders and riding instructors I know. From trials, offroad, to street bikes (even rally cars!). If it's got wheels, he has already mastered it and he has a great way of teaching the skills to others. Way to go Ray!!

I think the host IS a goob
Did you see the episode where the guy from the AMA was there and the host mentions that he pays his dues to the AMA with his $39 a MONTH payment... which just goes to show that he probably isn't even a member of the AMA

That place is beee--uuuuu-tiful.. Trials Training Center near Chattanooga, TN.. Beautiful mountains laced with bike trails! What more could you ask for? One trail takes you up to an 80 foot waterfall.. you stand in the mist of the falls to cool off.. ahhhhh... Another trail is called the "Roller Coaster" and it will have you laughing out loud it is so much fun! Trails everywhere... miles and miles of them.. Then at night, as you go to sleep in camp, a mountain stream babbles in the background.. THEN YOU WAKE UP AND RIDE MORE!!! Rider's paradise..

Rockhopper, I read a Dirt Rider article a few years ago about a riding ranch near Chattanooga...is this the one? At that time, you could bring your trail bike and ride and camp at the ranch. They also offered trials lessons. Did they go strictly trials? I've thought about taking a trip with my bike and renting a trials sled for a day or two.
And great job Ray!

Tom, last time I was on their website they listed a three-day trials class for off road riders. Two days of trials instruction on rented trials bikes that they supply, then one day of trail riding on their property, on your own dirt bike, to try out what was taught. Sounds like a real good time!

Yep! Tominator, this is the place.. a dual sport bike or any torquey dirt bike would be great up there too.. ESPECIALLY if you put a rear trials tire on the bike.
They have one trail ride that goes from the resort to a big cave. (The cave is awesome, it feels like a refrigerator, a cool blast of air comes out of the walk-in opening!).. anyway, about 6 of us were on our trials bikes and one guy came along with an XR400 equipped with a trials tire on the rear. He did fine, (he was an experienced rider)..., only in a couple of spots did he slightly struggle.. If he would have had a stock tire, or a big knobby tire, it would have been REAL difficult..
The Trials Training Center went under new management last year and they have really done a great job.. increasing the amenities, adding Ray Peters to the instructors, etc..
BTW, you can get "used" trials tires real cheap from a trials dealer here in Texas.. they start at $10.00.. and for this type of trail riding you won't believe the difference.. In fact, many riders that try a trials tire are blown away by the traction.... unfortunately new trials tires are very expensive when compared to the standard knobby tire.. (Michelin trials tire = $130) But, for higher speed trail riding you don't need the brand new tire, a used one would be an excellent value.. I can put anyone in touch with the trials dealer if they might be interested.. if not now, anytime.. just PM me..
Later, I'll be getting ready for Centerville! Round 1 and 2 of the State Series this weekend! Yeah!
