Take desired amount on husk-on ears of corn and soak them in a bucket of water for 2 hrs.
Place the ears of corn with husk-on directly on an open grill until husks turn brown or even longer for a real roasted flavor.
Peel the husk back forming a handle for this dude. Kids really like the handle part of this.
Salt n pepper n butter and your there.
This is a quick and easy campfire appetizer and kids really think it's cool.
Hint, keep a bucket full around camp for snackin around the campfire it's simple and inexpensive, the leftovers can go into the fire and will burn up.

Anyone interested in more Choctaw Indian recipes and camp cookin leave a comment and I will post more.

Enjoy
Michael

Choctaw, Osage, Pawnee, we are pretty open to recipes from all tribes. Bring them on.

Howlin Coyote Eggs,

Collect 1 dz. fresh coyote eggs (when on your visit to the Kiamichi Mountains)
Otherwise get a dozen eggs and boil and peel them rascals.
Pack them in a quart mason jar (you don't have to rinse that small bit of moonshine from the jar)
For Howlin Coyote Eggs, I send'em swimmin down the creek with a 1/2 bottle of tabasco sauce and top off the jar with vinegar.
You can add your favorite spices and fill with vinegar too.
Let'em sit overnite or they will improve with age. This is a snack that will keep for along time.

Howl at the moon and enjoy,
Michael
