I've been biting my tongue on this one, but after seeing the route sheet, I've decided to speak my mind ( shocker). 70 dollars for 21.5 miles of tests is pretty steep don't ya think. Just one mans opinion. What does anyone else think?

its a restart! and I bet it will be really fun. I'm just glad it's not a sprint!

costs me more in gas to get out there than both entry fees put together

How are checkpoints identified in a re-start event? Timed sections vs transfer sections? Thanks.

The check in is a "Start" check and is identified by a green sign and the check out is a "Stop" check and is identified by a Red sign. That's per the rule book but I can't recall seeing these signs at very many events.

Irishcouch. Just remember to put the green sign at the head of your couch. And the red at the foot of couch. Have fun riding it...

I'm not trying to start an internet argument, but if the price was $45, in the grand scheme of racing would it make a difference?

$10,000 dirt bike
$50,000 toy hauler
$60,000 diesel truck
$300 fuel for bike, truck, and generator for the weekend
$100 food and ancillaries for a 2 day race
$250 bibs in tires
$500 Shoei helmet
$1100 pit bike
$1200 tools you'll take with you to the race

This may not be your situation exactly, but I bet some of this is applicable. Putting on a race is a pain in the ass. PEA has a dinner (for a fee) in a historic building, provides entertainment, the city opens it's arms to us, the venue is epic, the landowners are probably not that easy to deal with when it comes to dirtbikes tearing their land up, and the list goes on. $25 is fairly insignificant in my eyes.

Yes, that sounds pretty luxurious. My set up is a lot less sparse and enduro is still pretty spendy. I go when I can these days (when funds allow). Your milage may very with cost and what you have into it.

All that said I think you missed the point. I don't think he was complaining about the cost in general or even the entry fee. He was complaining about the mileage for the event. As in you don't get a lot of your cost. Minimal days mileage for full days pay so to speak.

A general answer to your question. Yes 70 is high comparing to other 2 day venues. Usually saturdays race is 10 to 20 bucks less than sundays ride. However with the rider count this club always has and the fact that I continue to pay because I love to ride this peice I guess the answer would then be NO its not to high. Is that cornfusing enough?

Hey RP, The Fun Row would pay $90 for Saturday's race. It's worth it just to get to race!!! But our deal is a little different: we are Mayonnaise Farmers.
$2937 dirt bike ( one of us bought a used one and put new plastic on it - told everyone it was new, the other one bought a new bike and raced it for 8 going on 9 seasons. (New Yamaha pro-rated for 9 seasons = $800 per season.
$9,840 race camper. 20' with shower!!! Used for 14 going on 15 season (you do the math I can't)
Old worn out farm Dodge - been stolen twice.... they keep bringing it back!
Fuel for bike and generator...."we don't need gas, there will be some at the gas stop". That's why they call it a gas stop.
$00 for food. We just find Roger's cooler and eat his sandwich.
$23.50 for tubes and patches per season.
$35 garage sell helmet. $3 spray paint.
$0 no pit bike.... we just find a bike and ride it to the awards. They'll find it
$6. Plyers and vice grips. Dang farmers can fix anything with Vicegrips.
$447 for gun show rifle to shoot pigs with off the highway.
$22. Ammo for gun show rifle.
We LOVE road trippin racin!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think your rider count for Saturday's race says that 70 dollars was not to high for a Sampler Enduro.

Well done PEA.
