To the person wo let me borrow their crescent wrench to tighten my spokes (I think you were on row 9). First, thank you very much! Second, I looked for you and couldn't find you after the race. I left your wrench in the scoring trailer and they said they'd keep it with them. If you didn't claim it today they'll have it at the next race. Thanks again, you were a life saver!

That was a great course and I enjoyed getting to see tecate drop again along with some other trails I haven't ridden in a long time. As I was making a deal with the guy that was stuck on the last climb in section 4 in front on me (to help him if he would help me) I remembered what all this Long Course stuff was about. However, when every rider (except 3 )is late to the check-in after gas do you think you could have given just a little more free time at Gas #2?

The whole time I was doing the last 2 tests I was thinking Richard is running this same course. If he can do it so could I.

I agree with this. I only rode one race last year (Concho) and had the exact same thing happen to me then as well, except at that one I had planned to take gas at that stop and so increased my late time even more. This time I didn't take gas but had I known I was late I definitely would have ridden the transfer faster. I didn't think I needed to mess with bringing the cheat sheet and a watch now that they're all restarts...

So now I guess I've learned another lesson. 1) don't take gas after an AB test unless absolutely necessary (2017 Concho lesson) and 2) bring a watch and the cheat sheet so I know if I'm way late to the next check! (2018 Red Canyon lesson).

Loved the course though. I don't know if I've ever raced this property before but I'll definitely be back.

One other thing from the race...

There are a few long course riders that seem to have ridden check 8 significantly faster than the overall winner. That happens to be the AB/C split test. They also all happened to have been on time to check 9 which most others were not. Something seems wrong there, no?

I agree as well... I have yet to finish a full B class enduro without getting some time on the last check due to being a little bit late (I was only 6 or 7 minutes late this time!!!)

I felt like I was "racing" for longer than the gp race since I was in top of 6th gear on the road and blasted by the gas stop.

I'm fine with keeping the gas stops short for A/B riders, gives me a real challenge for sure and I know I have the endurance to do 2 tests and transfers in a row at pace.
