The 2018 schedule is posted on the TSCEC website under "2018 Schedule". It's the tab below the mini schedule tab. Remember, things can and do change. This is the "finalized" schedule unless something unforeseen occurs. I put on the schedule the sprint or restart formats as they occurred in 2017 to the best of my knowledge. I would say the formats are subject to change so stay flexible. Thanks!

So just some thoughts and observations on my part about the 2018 schedule. 13 races on the schedule and 10 of them are in West Texas. That is good for me living in Lubbock, but not so good for all the racers from East Texas. What ever it takes we need the powers that be to kiss and make up so we can race at Calisburg, Nacogdoches and Gilmer or Red River again. This does not need to become the West Texas Enduro series. Also do not see any co-sanctioned events with the BJEC, RMEC or SETRA. Was this by choice? I know that the TSCEC board is working for free and we appreciate your hard work, but in my humble opinion we need a more diverse geographical area of races. We stand a much better chance of attracting rides from Houston,The Metroplex and surrounding states if they have some choices of races closer to home. Just my 2 cents worth. YMMV.

I agree Richard, I think the schedule is tentative. Unless the rug has been pulled under me, the Boondockers will only be a one day next season. I would love to do Callisburg or muenster(bulcher) whatever you know it by, or both. Nacadoches, Gilmer, or the race by Marble Falls we had a few years back. The young guns from West Texas need to get in the woods or they will have a hard time competing there when they do. Surely this can be accomplished with just a little cooperation and desire. Crosstimbers is always fun as well.

I sure wish it had a few more eastern events. I also understand there's a lot involved.

Local dirt bike clubs dictates where events are held. Not much going on in South Texas.

TSCEC is working on getting things back online with Blackjack and getting more events in other areas of the state. It is obviously West Texas heavy next year but I can assure you that TSCEC is aware and pushing for more events that would balance out the location of races across the state. Lots of politics as we all well know. I can't speak to all the politics involved because I'm new to the team but with time I believe we will get this worked out and get a good balance of events across the state and with other sanctioned groups. And yes, the schedule is tentative and can be changed. I didn't put any co-sanctioned information on the schedule because that is still in progress. That will be updated as those agreements are made. Thanks for voicing concerns, that makes us better.

And thanks to everyone that is working to make it better. I know it is usually a thankless job.

RenegadeDude for Pres! Tough situation for sure these days especially considering available land. For me in DEEP SE TX most events are eight to 11-12 hours away. That makes it very doubtful for a SR traveling alone. And the two-day events make it tougher for those who can't travel Fridays. Seems a little unfair for quite a few. Hope things can be worked out, a return to Smithville sounds great.

It would be a sprint enduro there. Plus if I'm not mistaken a club would have to sponsor and set up the event. Maybe TRH?

There is the disconnect in todays time and just a few years ago. I remember many riders who did not give a hoot about points. Just show up and ride when they can for the love of the sport. Now you have to adjust 2day venues, have certain kind of formats, have so many classes that half if not more get a 9 dollar trophy. If ya cant make staurday then ride sunday, if ya cant make sunday ride saturday. If you have promoted to a class you are not competative in then just keep personal info and see how you are doing compared to last time. I have a freind who shows up to 3 or 4 races a year and rides the A class. Finishes the race and never even walks up to the scoring booth. He says he just likes riding and dont care about the finish status. He is always in the top 10 in overall A. Crazy to think. Thats what is missing most in my opinion is riding simply for the love of the sport. How do you fix that?

If you figure that one out Sparkey then please let us know because you hit the nail on the head. Back in the day ( gotta love sentences that start with that) there were three classes, nine trophies and 400 plus riders. The challenge for all of us that love this sport is to see it perpetuate. THAT MEANS WE ALL HAVE TO BE PROMOTERS. To try and meet that challenge I will throw out a challenge. If every rider that came to even one of the races this year would bring a friend with him to the same race next year we would be well on our way, It is not just up to the TSECE board to attract new riders. IT IS UP TO US ( ALL of the TSCEC riders ) to promote the sport. Not everyone loves a challenge, but if you know someone that does, bring them to the next race.

This is the single, biggest factor. Us as clubs and TSCEC need to make the riders #1. "If you build it, they will come"

When I say "enduro" the little girlie men in my area start mumbling about leaving their mommy, cutting the grass, the distance or some other whiny excuse. Use to have a couple guys who enjoyed making the trips but it just ain't happening anymore.

I've volunteered to set up bikes for some of the guys that I work with. I said, "Get some Tubliss, some handguards, and a skidplate, and I'll do the work." They still mumble about driving 3 hours to a race. What the hell!? I made the mistake of taking a "fast motocrosser" on the A split on the west side of Fluvanna. When he finally finished, he said he hated enduro. So, be careful where you drag newbies. It was my fault that I ruined this guy. I honestly believe though that if we (collectively speaking) can get some motocrossers out to an enduro, they'd be hooked, especially older guys who frankly aren't interested in huckin' the triples anymore.
