When looking at the lap times online, I see something very odd. When I look at A and C classes, the first lap time for most riders is about the same ast the last lap. However, when I look at, for example, open B in the last 3 races, their first lap time is way, way faster than the A's. For A's every lap will be, say, about 12 minutes. But everyone in open B will have a first lap of, say, 10 minutes then all of their subsequent laps will be 13-15.

Is this some oddity of how scoring works or are all of the B riders AA riders who fade really fast?

No I think all those B riders got bumped or moved up voluntarily over the summer!
Just kidding, it should be all classes because we start ahead of the scoring shoot so first lap for everybody should be rather short and then all the other laps a little longer

David is looking in to the first lap issue. For some reason when he uploads results it does not include the offsets. I show the Open B first laps to be 6 minutes longer.

In reviewing my lap times please DNF me as
I may have taken an inappropriate cut on laps 5 and 6. Sorry about that.

Does this mean that forced promotions are broken from C to B? I see guys in almost every C race that are in the top five B finishers after correcting the lap time for the first B lap. I think I have a ways to go, but I want to be one of those guys!

Actually, I take it back. I think that I (halfway back in the C pack) might, if I'm reading things correctly, be in line for forced promotion too.

Here's the way I'm reading it. If you look at the last race at Spoaks and the 40+C class, here's what I see.

In 40+C, the lap times look wrong. Everyone's first lap was 4 minutes shorter than their subsequent laps. So I think that 4 minutes needs to be added to the 40+C riders total time.

In 40+B, the lap times look wrong. Everyone's first lap was 8 minutes shorter than their subsequent laps. So I think that 8 minutes needs to be added to the 40+B riders total time.

If I do this, my posted time was 1:04:12. Adding 4 minutes gives me an actual time of 5 laps in 1:08:12.

The fifth place finisher in 40+B has a posted time of 1:01:38 for 5 laps. Adding 8 minutes to his time to correct for his start row gives me an actual lap time of 5 laps in 1:09:38.

Am I reading this wrong or are all 5 top 40+C finishers in the last race in line for forced promotions based on the "if you're in the top 5 of the next class up you get promoted" rule? Or does the top 5 include all B riders from all B classes, in which case we might not?

Hopefully not because I just got new bike graphics done for C class colors!

The adjusted times are not calculating correctly. What you see in the odd times is correct. Working on the issue.
