Decided to buy a used used YZ250f to start riding trails again before I get too old. Where can I go to start/learn where I won't get run over or killed in the Houston area. Thanks. Can't wait!

Geez...121 views and ZERO replies. I am considering getting back on the dirt myself and wondering where to ride near H-town as well. All I've heard is the Sam Houston Nat'l Forest. Surprising since I see members of that SHNF club on this site that someone didn't chime given the fact that OP put this inquiry up August 2015.

I have a 2014 Ktm Factory Edition for sale. The bike only has 30 hours on it and is in great shape! I'm selling it because I'm currently going to college and the bike is just collecting dust. The asking price is 7,000 no trades will be accepted cash offers only. Email me at Colegriffin7200@yahoo.com and I would be glad to send you some more information and pictures.

Nobody got any ideas? I'm also having trouble finding places to ride closer to Houston, besides freedom mx would really love to hit some single track.

Look here for all the info on the Sam Houston National Forest.
Trail maps are all the way at the bottom of the page.
We have a group riding Saturday, if anyone wants to join in.

Definitly check out Old Dudes on Dirt Bikes. They host a ton of rides around the Houston area, and are in Austin every once in a while. As mentioned Sam Houston Nat forest is a great spot. Being from Austin the places i frequent are within 40 miles or so of ATX: Powell Ranch MCP, Hidden Falls, and Central Texas Offraod are all places open to the public on the weekends with great single track. I also enjoy all the rides that Austin Motorsport Association puts on. Most are held on private ranches around Bastrop that are full of fun single track. Would highly recommend the TORCS series also, very laid back. Feel free to shoot me a msg if you have any questions.
