I will be a first timer at this race, so please pardon my ignorance! I read the flier, but could you post a simple rundown on what type of race this will be? RE: How will the scoring be done? Do the different classes have different courses or times? What kind of start?-all that sort of stuff! Not expecting anything too cutthroat as AMSA events are usually pretty laid back, but I still kinda want to know what to expect. It will also help me talk my non-AMSA riding buds into coming along if I don't have to answer "UH, I don't really know" to all their questions. Thanks

I'm not familiar with the enduro race format. If I just want to ride for fun and not get run over by expert riders, when do I 'race'? I'm on a 2015 yamaha 250 4 stroke and i'm >50 years old.

According to the flier, the "team race" starts at 2:30pm on Saturday 25feb2017.

1). What is meant by "team race". I just want to ride the course by myself. Do I have to be on some sort of team?

2). Also, will I need to worry about getting run over? I'm a slow beginner and apparently I'm not very good at signaling when I'm trying to get out of the way (I got run over during practice at the last TORCS race). Will expectations/rules be set for passing?

Let me see if I can answer the questions.

No membership required of any kind.

The format of this race will be half Grand Prix which will be at least Polaris Ranger wide, fast and flowing with plenty

of room to pass. The other half of the track will be more like a Hare Scramble style track that is at least four wheeler wide.

The big bike track will be between 8 and 9 miles. The kids track will be about 1 mile and parent friendly to watch.

The terrain is sand and sandy loam. Creeks and rolling hills. No rocks except for river rock in the creek beds.

We will be using at least 50 percent new trail and not the trail we rode the last two ride days. Any sections of previously existing trail will be groomed.

Scoring will be done by Moto Tally and will be live on the internet as well as at the ranch. You will need a transponder

labeled Moto Tally. To my knowledge TORCS does NOT use the Moto Tally scoring system. TSCEC, TSCEC XCD and TORO use the Moto Tally scoring system.

The kids will have there own separate track.

The remainder of the big bikes will have their own track. All classes will race the same course. This is NOT an enduro race format. A typical enduro will have A/B/C splits. We will NOT have A/B/C splits.

The start will be a dead engine start. You will line up on the row for your class. Each row will leave the starting line about one minute apart.

If you want to ride for fun pick the Beginner Class or C Novice Class. The age classes can be pretty competitive even in the Over 50 and Over 60 class. The track is laid out such that there will be plenty of room for the fast riders to pass safely. You can still ride your age class and just let the faster riders go first!

The Team Race will be on Saturday. This will be a tag Team type race. A Team can consist of one, two, or three riders. The cost of the Team Race is $90 no matter if there are one, two or three riders. If it is a one person team the cost will be $90. A two person team will cost $90 or $45 for each rider. A three person Team will cost $90 or $30 per person.

We will have a riders meeting Saturday before the Team Race and again Sunday before the racing begins. Everything will be

discussed at each riders meeting.

I hope this answers your questions. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,
-Larry
