DIRECTIONS

LAT: 29.97 36 56 LONG: -97.13 51 57

From Austin. Take HWY 71 East to Smithville. There are three (3) exits in Smithville. You want to take the third (3rd) exit if headed East from Austin. You want to take the first (1st) exit if you are headed West from Houston. Stay on the feeder road to 230 (also named Old Lake that curves south). Turn right on 230 (Old Lake) if you are headed East from Austin or turn left if you are headed West from Houston. Go 1/4 mile. Turn left onto Old Lake Road. Drive one and a half (1.5) miles to 442 County Road 321. We will have arrows and ribbon marking the entrance. Click on the link below for the picture of the front gate ! Heaven !!! You will want to drive past the entrance that has "McMahan Ranch" on it as that is the main entrance and we will be down the road about 0.8 miles at a new entrance and property. Again, follow the pink ribbon and arrows to the entrance to the ride day.

THIS IS A NEW PROPERTY SO IT IS NOT THE SAME ENTRANCE AS PAST RIDE DAYS !!! FOLLOW THE PINK RIBBON AND ARROWS TO THE NEW PLACE ABOUT 0.8 MILES DOWN THE ROAD !!! smile

You must sign-in BEFORE you ride.

Hope to see everyone out to have some fun riding and to enjoy the McMahon Ranch.

Thanks,
-The McMahan Family & AMSA

Hey everyone... I just stumbled across this website and I'm stoked to find a place with like-minded people as I'm always looking for people to ride with. (Most of my buddies don't ride a.k.a. I need new friends)

I'm unfamiliar with how rides like these work. Can we camp out at the ranch the night before so we're ready to ride first thing in the morning? If we do that, is it possible to ride Saturday, as well?

I appreciate any help and advice for the noob!

You're gonna love it! There will be more details posted soon. Sometimes camping is allowed. It depends on the ranch/ride venue as to what the landowner wants or doesn't want. The same with riding on Saturday. Generally the riding is from 8 or 9 am until 4 pm on Sunday. We'll all look forward to meet ya.

Hey Larry,

Are dogs allowed out there? If my wife wants to come hang out for the day while I ride, can she bring the pup if we keep him leashed? Thanks.

In all these years I have only been bitten by one (1) dog at a ride day and it was painful and expensive. And it was a weenier dog which is the same dog I have had for 20 plus years!?!?!?

LOL, those dogs can tear you a new one and believe me, you don't want a new one. Kidding, Val has two of the best in the world cause they LOVE uncle Dave (I've always got food).

Did Lumber say he was bitten by a wiener or his shocked was bitten?
