I'm thinking bout giving XC a shot but I come from the MX world. How difficult will it be running 20's/18's?? Not looking to drop money on tires until I decide it's something I want to give a full shot at. Also how strict are they on background colors?? Thanks in advance

Can't believe nobody has answered your questions, if its not too late, my 25 yrs. experience in xc racing is 20s on back is a minimum. Better is 22s, the ruts and roots, rocks etc must be cleared. Running 22s or 23s up front is needed for the same. Also yes on the backgrounds, must follow correct background colors.
This really helps when the conditions are muddy.
