hi, I have only ever raced MX but will be picking up a bike within the next week and would like to start racing this series and others like it. I was reading the flyers and was wondering if anyone could help me on what class I should be riding. I'm not familiar with the lite/ heavy classes.

thanks!

From the TORO rules handbook:

Lite 1cc-250cc 4-Stroke and 1cc-248cc 2 stroke
*A stock 250cc 2 Stroke not allowed
*Any 250 4-Stroke with a kit or over bore not allowed
Heavy Over 251cc-4 Stroke; 249cc 2-Stroke and up.

There are also skill classifications. Expert, Imtermediate, Amateur. If you are a beginner, or novice MX rider I'd suggest the amateur class to start with. You can always move up if you're skills indicate you are faster than the other riders in your class.

Thank you slowstarter - I could not have put it better myself.

We also have age classes ranging from +30 to over 65, and skill levels to match for each one.

Wish y'all weren't so far away, could you work on that? Nice terrain up there.

It would be nice to have some races further south - maybe we can pass that along for future promoters! (Full disclosure - I live and work in Austin, and have spent almost all of my race or ride weekends in North TX).

Glad we could help, Wjh1n, and we look forward to seeing you at the races!

I moved south for work after graduating college in Dec. 2013 (been in Ft Worth for nearly a decade prior). It would be nice to have a comparable position/funds in DFW, though!
