1 - On the fire suit requirement. A single layer fire resistant suit, be it a one piece or two, will just cover the upper and lower body. Is that all that is required or do you have to have fire resistant gloves, shoes and head protection, too?

2 - On some racing seat belts the two shoulder straps share a common strap to attach to the frame. The two shoulder strap go to a "Y" and then attach to the frame. Is this a legal 4 point seat belt set-up?

I was thinking that I may have to add an anti-submarine belt to make the "Y" style belts be legal (aka... have 4 separate points attaching to the frame).

Thanks for the help!

FYI - I think the passenger should be able to carry a loaded gun. Water gun that is!!! laugh

I guess you figured it out by now buy just in case, all you need is a single layer (SFI-1) fire suit, one piece or two. No hand, head or feet fire protection necessary. I use MX gloves and I use a pair of special tennis shoes I bought for downhill mountain biking because they have a stiffer sole than regular tennis shoes. Work real good. Most drivers use MX helmets but that's a personal preference. The Y belts are not true 4 point and not really legal but most organizations around here will let you get by with it. They're really made for Jeeps. A submarine belt does not qualify for the 4th point, though I do use one, not for safety so much but because it holds down my lap belt when I tighten my shoulder straps.
