1504 Flyer

This one will be another Sprint race format, so bring your buddies out to see if the laptimes can match the bench racing tales smile

This round is brought to you by Goodwoodz - they are a new sponsor this year, and have some unique, environmentally friendly apparel (and they are local!). Check them out - TORO members get a discount as well (details located in our scoring trailer at VC). Also, the owner will be on hand to provide information and giveaways at the event!

Last bit of info - the PW races will be 50's, followed by the 65's. The Sunday program will be the same as before (Short + SS, then Long). Test count/totals for each race will be announced at the rider's meeting, so be sure to be ready.

See everyone at the race!

Awesome! We hope you enjoy this one as well - should be a good balance of woods and moto.

This is strictly because of the newer format combining the Short and Super Short programs (in the interest of time). I would love to have the first race for a change, myself! Depending on the race length, we might be able to shuffle the two programs at Patriot Park, but nothing official until after VC. But then the last round at Callisburg will likely be Long course first.

I think the experts and pro's should race last everytime. They are the fastest for a reason. You want to keep young and old riders, don't give them a track that is beat to crap and too tough on them. Just my 2cents

I disagree, some of us old guys like the challenge of a difficult track. Plus if you never get to race after a pro race, how will you ever learn pro lines!

Just keep rotating the starts. But make the tests longer. At bsgp only got 1 hr of seat time. +- 8 mile loops would be great instead of 3 mile loops. Just my 2 cents

We appreciate all of the feedback, and will work within our contains for the season to make things better overall. Knowing that many riders enjoy the format, we will be preparing for next season with feedback in mind, specifically related to test structure and race length.

Just to note: being a winter racing series, daylight hours are very important to us when configuring races, hence why we put the short course first at round 1 (and this coming round). Having more experience in handling/scoring these events will allow us to make changes for next season as necessary, in order to make the events as fun as possible.

Just keep rotating? The starts have yet to be rotated. Long program has had the late (afternoon) race for the first 3 races. (this one will make 4)
Moreover.....As for that stuff about the late race being a tougher track: At the last race, The early rounds were terribly slick & gooey. Track started to tack up a little towards the later laps & was fairly decent for the afternoon race. therefore, the early race was considerably more difficult. Theory busted.........

Nope not busted. They didnt have all the deep ruts that we did. I think the minis and women should race on saturday and have the less chewed up track. After all the kids are the future of our sport

Saturday racing would be ideal to benefit all of the groups, although the volunteer effort we have takes some consideration as well - the only series in North TX holding a points driven program on Saturday that isn't made up of PW riders is a for profit endeavor

We have rotated the race order for the standard format races, although it does not necessarily appear that way due to the bookended Sprint events. The Short + SS program is significantly larger in size (and due to laptimes per test, longer in general, despite less loops) than the Long program. At round 1, the long course ran almost the same time length with 2 added tests - again, we are a Winter racing series, and elements are a factor already. But we don't want to shorten races further just to race later in the day, as it negatively hinders the riding experience. This is an irregular season, and we will do everything we can to rotate the programs within our constraints.

We have a crew going out this afternoon, and if anything notable has develiped, we will post. We will handle reroutes as necessary.

Thanks for the volunteer offer - we will certainly look for support in the future (everyone on staff would appreciate more hands on deck!)

Gimp is correct - it is essentially a $10 day membership that only works for the race day (no points for the season). You still get to see results at the track and get your awards, and if you want digital copies I can email them once results are final. However, they will not appear on th website due to how points are calculated.
