Hello,

A couple buddies and myself are wanting to start racing some enduro and such. From what I have been able to gather the XCD & TSCEC are the organizations that race in/around TX? I am having a bit of trouble gathering more info on these series. From what I can tell these series are about done for the year? We are based out of Austin and are just looking for as many opportunities to ride and learn as possible. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Blake

Welcome. The Enduro season just ended; the new season will start around September of this year and run through the Spring of 2015. Most of the enduros are in Texas, with many of them in West Texas (the area east of Lubbock). The new schedule should be posted in the next few months. During the summer TSCEC avoids racing in the heat, many of the hare scramble series take a summer break as well.

For prep I would recommend riding as much as possible, focusing on trying to ride 50 miles to get used to the number of miles you'll ride in an Enduro. When you go to your first couple of enduros sign up in one of the C Classes to get a feel for the distance and what it's like to race an Enduro.

Welcome again.

I agree with Danger/Jim. Ride some loooong days at Hidden Falls or CTOR for training.

where are some good places to practice for the enduro season, if I live in Rockwall (30 minutes East of downtown Dallas)?

BMRA is a great place to ride, http://www.barnwellmountainra.com/

RRMC is another good option, http://www.redrivermotorcycletrails.com/

Crossbar is HUGE and ROCKY, http://crossbarranch.com/

All properties are rather large so find some other bikes to ride with if possible to get you on the singletrack and carry lots of water this time of year. I found a guy at Crossbar who was nearly in trouble lost and without water one summer.

When does the new schedule get posted? I'm missing all of the TORN season due to two broken ankles so I'm thinking of doing the TSCEC series. Should be back on the bike by the time it starts.
