But like 99.9999999999999% of small plane pilots, most let their egos measure their ability.

Bravo amigo. I love solo riding. It's you and the bike. Only once in my many solo rides I needed to bail from my bike and call in the mother ship. It's a great sense of pleasure when you overcome the ordeals that may be put upon you along the trail. Don't get me wrong, riding with your buddies is great but that's just another type of riding. Solo is what it is. You want to be alone and experience the ride. Just prepare yourself before you go out. I always take water, GPS, camera, phone, basic useful tools and assorted items. Enjoy your rides....

Loc: just outside San Antonio, Texa...
when I was in the Navy, on submarines at that, we were always team players, I was stationed up near Bangor, Washington, across Puget Sound from Seattle, I used to take my Suzuki '87 SP200 (which I still have) all over the place by myself, we did a lot of dirt biking out there but I also traveled a lot of fire and logging roads myself, sure I fell over once and saw stars, got blocked in from when hikers put logs on the trails, a few issues but most of the time it was just me and the bike and it was great, that was when I was in my 20s, now in my 40s I am a little more cautious but still ride solo quite often, my DRZ400S takes me all over Texas and I never had problems, the fireside story tellin' is fun with friends but just get out and ride and I think it is OK to do it solo!

I got left behind. When I got to my truck, everyone was gone home. Nobody came to look for me. Riding with someone isn't enough. Make sure you ride with someone you know really well, like your blood brother.
