Dear KTM Customer:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the Consumer Product Safety Act. KTM North America, Inc.has determined that a defect exists with the throttle assembly which relates to motor vehicle safety. To ensure the highest level of safety, performance, reliability and customer satisfaction, it is necessary to have the top half of the throttle housing assembly replaced by an authorized KTM Dealer free of charge.
On affected models, during use there is a possibility that the throttle cable could be pinched between the throttle cable wheel (white plastic) and top part of the throttle housing assembly. This could cause the throttle cable to not function properly which may result in an uncontrollable throttle. Subsequently, this could lead to an accident and may cause injury or death to the rider or others. The cause of the defect involves an improperly manufactured top half of the throttle housing assembly from the supplier. The defective top half of the throttle housing assembly must be replaced along with the throttle cable wheel (white plastic) and brass bushing by an authorized KTM dealer.
It is mandatory that you discontinue riding your motorcycle until the defect has been repaired. Please contact your authorized KTM Dealer (log onto www.ktmusa.com
