We were riding the other day, and I asked a friend to adjust my suspension...he did not realize on the KTM that the top nut is not part of the adjusters, it seals in the oil. So it was undone, then when realized, he tightened it up really fast, but pinched off the o-ring.

The bike dripped some shock oil and I put in a new o-ring. I know the easy answer is take it to the shop...but can I put in some oil myself? It did not hiss which leads me to believe it does not mix oil with nitrogen. It is pretty embarrassing...was first ride on this new to me bike, and it was a short one after the shock deal. So I have not ridden it and want to see what I am looking at to get back to even with the shock.

Oil and nitrogen are indeed separate. Worked out a way to keep the opening for the adjuster immersed in oil, evacuate any air, and reinstall the adjuster. Coupla bucks worth of oil, about 30 minutes, and good as new.
