Racers, be advised of this notice on the City of Fort Worth website (under City News) posted 6/6/12:
"State Highway 114 will be closed near Texas Motor Speedway for the next 24 to 36 hours due to an early morning accident. Traffic may be impacted for the next 30 days.
Motorists are encouraged to contact Texas Motor Speedway for alternate routes to the facility for scheduled races this weekend, and all drivers passing through the area should be cautious as crews work to repair the damage.
At 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, a tractor-trailer carrying an oversized load westbound on SH-114 at F.M. 156 hit the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe (ATSF) Railroad bridge.
The railroad track and bed were displaced from the bridge columns supporting it, and ATSF crews are mobilizing cranes into the area to set the tracks into their proper place and make any other repairs. Repairs are expected to be completed by late Thursday or early Friday. SH-114 will be closed at the site until travel under the bridge is deemed safe."
To further complicate traffic matters, the Indy Cars and Global Rallycross cars (cool!)are scheduled to race at Texas Motor Speedway this w/e.
Rain-out for us or TMS...who knows?
