WOW!!! Great idea Dee!!!

sorry I don't know the where abouts of any you had listed but I have several that I have often wondered what ever became of from back in the day....

Yondale Beavers
Sherry Beavers
Mary Beavers
(all three were sisters from up around the dallas/ft worth area that moved out on lake buchanan in the mid 70s (owned ponderosa point where my dad and I built a MX track and had 3 or 4 AMA sanctioned races), then moved back up there some where, there was also another younger sister too but can't remember her name to save me).

Carolyn Dicky
Dianne Dicky
(cousins of the Beavers from the Weatherford area whose dad owned a little bike shop out southwest of town).

Vernon Hallmark (I think originally from Lampasas used to ride a dual sport CanAm 175 stripped for MX).

There is a fast young man named Dayton Beavers racing Amateur Nationals, out of Texas. Might be a connection?

There is also a youngster named Cody Dickey who's raced in DFW for years, and has actually won some Am Nats.

Who knows whats in a name?

I'm thinking of chaning mine to Ricky-Chad Bubba McGrath......

(Ricky-Chad is like Billy-Bob, but faster...)

I was living in the Valley when most of those guys raced. I was racing XR-75's in 73, 74 & 75 all over South Texas, and some in Austin, San Antonio, Houston and DFW. All of those places were such a long distance from the Valley! I turned pro in 1980 then moved to Houston in 82 and continued to raced pro till 86. As for the riders on that list, it seems like all of those riders are from the DFW area.

Wyman Priddy died in his sleep about 6 years ago.

Bobby Pickard is a sales rep for Drag Specialties and has been in the DFW area for at least 15 years or more. Drag Specialties is the Harley aftermarket distributor owned by Parts Unlimited.

Lynn McClenney......last I saw him and his Dad was a Rabbit Run in 74' .It had rained for several days and R.R. was a black dirt track and it was real muddy. Lynn and his Dad had both his old 73' Yamaha 125 'like mine' and his new RM 125 on their trailer. My bike had siezed in practice and my Dad and I were leaving. Lynn's Dad offerd the Yamaha to me and said Lynn would race the RM. We finished 1st and 2nd in moto 1...him being 1st...Second moto was the same and as he pulled a wheely on the front straight....the front forks came apart ( the bolts that came up from the boots to attach them to the down tubes both came loose)..as I said it was new...

I was 3 bike lengths back and saw the forks stick in the ground... as the front wheel, Lynn and the fork boots kept going.

He was alright... though kind of pissed...I got 1st overall he got 2nd

Him and his Father letting me use his old bike was the nicest thing anyone did for me like that while I raced

I would like to know....Whatever happened to him too
