So I have a set of Cycra bark breakers but somehow I managed to bend the metal frame a little on one of them, I'm not here to bad mouth them I think that they are great but sitting in the garage trying to bend it back I was wondering about what everyone else uses? confused
I've heard the flags are good breakers unless you get into a tree really good but I'm just wondering next time do I go with the cheaper option that is easier to replace or stay with Cycra in case I end up handle bar hugging a tree? haha eek

I would just throw them away, if you are trying to bend them back, dont waste your time, but when you get another pair, get some moose, or enduro engineering ones, ive had my pair of mooses for 3 years!! that took a hard fall off my trailer and didnt bend!!
http://www.mooseracing.com/catalog.jsp?l...ategory_id=1801
then get these
http://www.mooseracing.com/catalog.jsp?l...t_group_id=7259

they are the ultimate pair of hand gaurds!!

I do like the Cycra Pro Bends, they mount easy, and they creat plenty of space for your hands. Like connor said, the Moose and Enduro Engineering hand guards are nice and a little cheaper.

Ended up finding a spare in the garage, yayyy for the random bits that fall apart or bend when you race! If I manage to bend this one I'll just get the flag types Moose has or something but for now I'll just watch out for "that" tree that always runs right out onto the track lol

Thanks for all the answers guys! Much appreciated!

Going to use some Acerbis flag style ones, no more big metal bending frame.

And my main gloves take most of the major hits anyways so I'm not worried about the bark breakers size being a little smaller.

It's not something we're getting, they were basically just lying around and it's better have these for now than nothing. Last race I hit ONE tree and bent the same side frame of the spare bark breaker that we had extra last time! It's so frustrating.... but yeah one good smack on that side I'd lose the one that was on there so we took them off and put these on for now, I'll look into those though thanks! smile

The hanguards and no good in the woods, I ran them for a while and all they do is bend back and hit your hand which is extremely annoying. Run full on bark busters or nothing.

I am now using Polisport ones, all plastic but it's durable and I didn't get to race with them yet but on my partial lap (same lap I broke my collar bone) I smacked a tree pretty good(before the wreck that I busted the clavicle) and they held well. They might move up or down a little but it's easier to pull them up than trying to hammer a metal frame into place or trying to keep the spacers that go in the handlebars from popping out. They were only around 20 or 30 bucks. They connect on the bar frame and go into the bar ends so they are the style I like too smile

So far, I have not had any problems with my Cycra Pro-Bends. And believe me, I have hit many trees since I put them on and they havent bent or moved at all. Much better than not having anything like last year
