So like the title says... Im from California and relocated to Austin are.

For some reason nobody I speak to has any idea about riding or camping near Austin.... Soooooo.... Here goes....

I have a 39' 5th wheel toy hauler, quads (sport not 4x4), dirt bikes, rhino and a few small bikes for the boy.

My question is... Is there any place around that has free riding like in CA? I dont mean free as in free of charge... but free riding as in not a local track for MC only. My girlfriend and her son ride quads or take the rhino out and so far I can only come up with a few local tracks or trails that allow MC only.

Fuirthermore.... Is there any regular camping that will accomodate my 39' 5th wheel??

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

-J

Try Hidden Falls in Marble falls area off 1431, lots of trails for 2 and 4 wheels.

I am currently riding my ATV almost every weekend there (Honda TRX400EX). Looking for people to ride with, want to ride together?

ctor is by salado. they allow dirt bikes and quads. membership only with a couple of exceptions.crooked creek is northeast of waco , dirt bikes and quads only. no membership only open on 2 and 4 weekend of the month. both have sections on this forum. then you have to drive for 5hrs to have some place to ride.also there is buffalo valley mx southeast of san antonio , they allow both bikes and quads.

Hidden Falls is a great place to ride for local. If you want to travel a little bit head over to Sam Houston National Forest. SHNF is north of Houston and offers 85 miles of riding for ATV and Dirtbikes (NO UTV). For 5 dollars a day or $20 a year it offers nice long loops over thousands of acres of forest land (trees). This is the place my wife and I treat ourselves to a couple times a year.

The only issue with the trails at Hidden Falls (which don't get me wrong I love Hidden Falls) is on some trails you really have to go at a crawl because there's some trails people accidently take backwards frequently. It's not a terrible thing you just have to be REALLY careful on some trails, the first time I went (with just bikes) we had a group of five or six atvs that almost hit us in a sharp corner on a trail they took backwards.
Everyone was fine but it was a really close call, I think it's just some see a trail and jump on it thinking it's burned in for that direction when it's the other way. But it really is a great place to ride. Fun and challenging for everyone smile
