Munster aka Red River, but I doubt the Red River is a good fishing (all I know is it's red muck). High iron content in the red dirt and water there, it will rust everything, so wash your bikes daily. I'd bet there was something near OK that's even better, but I wouldn't know. Munster is great riding though.

Red River is good fishing for sand base, catfish, gar, and carp. Lake Murray has better bass fishing and the water is clear down to 10'. Red River's riding is much better than Lake Murray's IMHO.

Bill T, is right on. I like Lake Murray for camping, we go to group camp ground 3, 1st or second dirt road on the right, nice camp sites on the water. I here the riding area is mostly sand. Red River has the best riding, by far, camping isn't bad, don't know about the fishing. Most of the water is a shallow tributary, the river is about a half mile east of the entrance, you need a bike or atv to get there.

Lazy L and L Campground on the Guadalupe River is the best place for family. It is a great camping spot. You will find a well designed area for fishing, swimming and separate playground for kids.

I heard Red River is fun but not the best idea for taking the younger kids. Is this true?

Camping is one of the best ways to connect and bond with your family. So always choose a good place for camping according to your need. Going camping is possibly your cheapest/most cost-effective holiday option.

a real late reply, but yah it's very large and there are a few hazards where you go in and can't back out as well as a few cliffs, so OK take them but watch ahead on the trails and supervise! Maybe check out the trails yourself and pick the ones best for the kiddos. There are also plenty of places to ride there that are on the easy side.

Check out Eisenhower State Park on Lake Texoma. A new ATV & DB area, it's a great place to ride with kids and the fishing & camping is good too
