We race because we love it not for a trophy or plaque. If you had a good weekend with friends and family, rode well, maybe met some nice folks then you more than got your moneys worth. This was my first xc event ever and I LOVED IT. I'd like to tell everyone crying about the track to get off the fourm and train better and if you are that butt hurt about not getting a trophy swing by my moms house and grab one of my old mx trophies that have been in a bag in the attic for ten years I personally thought it was cool they didn't waste money on something that will get thrown away anyway see y'all next month Well said, and welcome to Torn there are alot of good people involved

I understand the economic downturn. But from what i can see there were the same amount of riders, and the fees didn't change. And people there were spending their hard earned money. That they earned in these hard times. I really don't feel bad for the adults that raced and placed. It is the kids in this sport that placed this weekend that were extremley disappointed. My son was one of them. And when he got his little banner he looked at me and said "really, this is what i worked so hard for". Now understand, it is hard for a 6-12 year old to understand these hard economic times. So KTM250MIKE, ROBBIE109, & ridered. Thank you for your opinion. And i'm sure y'all have been doing this for quite some time and accomplished alot. But not all of us or our kids have. So try and understand

you know, i really wish they would have done better with the awards. My parents spent alot of money and i spent all my extra money for this race. It would be nice if they would have given us something better than a piece of fabric because this was my first time in torn to get a top three finish, and it was my first time to take the win. I just wanted something cool to remember it by and that i could be proud to hang up. I feel like if we work as hard as we do to get a good finish, then we deserve something a little more than that, especially after spending so much money to go out there.

An insult to all the riders,I hope this is not the beginning of a trend i agree, and only a small percentage of riders get an award anyways. its not hard to take a few dollars to make a plaque for the top 3 riders of each race, its just a peice of wood and a sticker. The little flags make the sport look much cheaper than it is.

Ya. What you said Robbie. BTW, they add up the points at the end of the year, not the trophys, plaques, pinits etc. If it helps Curtis n crew to stay in business, I'm all for it. TORN is above and beyond the best alternative. Just for the record I know what it takes to do the work they did putting in that track and my hat is off to em.
Also, where's your moma's house Robbie? I want one of those old trophys. Lol, just kiddin.

Sorry i wasn't thinking about the kids I do remember how important those were when I first started so why don't we meet in the middle and say awards for mini and under none for the other classes? I mean how many age class guys really care about that stuff?

My opinion (which is only just that, an opinion) is that it should not matter what you walk away with as an award for a top three finish. For me, the pride in finishing top three should be what motivates a rider, not the award. I didn't think one minute about what my award was going to be until I went to pick it up, because it doesn't matter to me. It's just a nice little bonus. I certainly don't think that the amount of money spent to make the awards should make them any more or less valuable. That's just me. I liked them, something different. I get the feeling that the gang likes to keep things fresh and not do the same things over and over again, which is refreshing and is one of the reasons TORN is such a great series.
