Wow! Really?

...and it's $45 not $40 if that makes a difference.

...are u sure u have to pay $35 plus $15?

$45 for the first race and $15 for subsequent races does not seem excessive...

...and if TRH members were working the races for their work days i don't see a problem BUT i don't remember seeing many doing this...seems like primarily Skull Creek members.

Here is the way is was written in the flier.

$15.00 - Entry fee (1st rider in Family)
$5.00 - Entry fee each additional family member
$45.00 – New TRH Membership(sign up and race free)
$35.00 - Non TRH Member Weekend Pass

To me that means if I am a non-member and I just want to race, it is $35 + $15 = $50. Thus, with this fee schedule it only makes sense for someone to join. I think I am on Brian's side with this one.

I agree with that statement, that's why I originally proposed the temporary membership. The problem I see is when the temporary membership fee + race fee ($50) costs more than membership fee + race fee ($45). It really make something we voted on null and void.

I like the original $10 temporary fee (same as other race series), because it gives Tom, Dick & Harry a chance to come see what we as a club have to offer and let them make the decision on there own if they want to join. Without being financial pressured.

I think increasing the race fees to $20-25 for the first racer in a family makes more sense. Family's should definitely get a discounted rate. This is a family sport.

We as TRH have a lot to offer. And compared to other race series we are the cheapest, best way to go.

I thought it was an insurance REQUIREMENT that all participants of a TRH sponsored event HAD to be TRH members. If one is a member of a group and tries to sue the same group he is in essence sueing himself. Am I mistaken in this?

I don't know where the fee structure came from but possibly it could be revisited.
I don't believe threatening or insulting words are the avenue we should go down.

In the immortal words of Rodney King, "can't we all just get along"? What most people don't know is Rodney was on PCP during his "incident" and could not have been controlled otherwise!

Then again I think it was John Wayne who said "If I want your opinion, I'll beat it out of you!"...LOL

Seriously, let's work together on this and solve the problem! ASAP

It doesn't make a difference, and thanks for completely missing the point Kenzo. The point is that we voted to have temporary memberships to promote people to come race (higher turnouts) and the board took it upon themselves to make it so that it was all moot anyway given that it would be financially stupid not to just join TRH. Rather than make a temporary membership 10.00 or so, so a non-member could race for 25.00. If that person raced all the races in the series, he or she would have paid the membership fee anyway, and still not have been a member, but at least they had the option. Maybe the following year, they would smarten up and join.

The whole idea is just very contradictory of looking at motrcycle riders as a "rare and valuable asset." We're not here for TRH. TRH is here for us and that's what people seem to forget.

Brian, the "Wow! Really?" was just me mocking Eric.

the flier cud spell out the fees/cost better...

$15.00 - Entry fee (1st rider in Family)
$5.00 - Entry fee each additional family member
$45.00 – New TRH Membership(sign up and race free)
$35.00 - Non TRH Member Weekend Pass

i read this as a non-member single race entry is $35...which is reasonable and with the wording "Weekend" almost makes it sound like it includes camping and free riding.

if indeed it's $35 plus $15...yeah that doesn't make sence.

cheers

Well that's what I thought as that would make sense, but apparently that is not the case. I flipped when I heard that. And really, like I said, these fees don't even affect me, but I, like anybody else would like to see the club grow and prosper. Lee's speech actually got me kinda motivated, but after this, I am very dissappointed. And this is really small potatoes compared to some of the other problems at hand.
