I was wondering about the recalibrating option when you come to a reset. That one looks cool. Like that you can mark a checkpoint and all that stuff.

The trail tech is just fine to learn on and the price is right. I started with one and upgraded to a Watchdog a year later. It will give you the info you need. To adjust your mileage though you have to stop ,usually at a mileage marker or reset, and adjust. On the ICO or Watchdog you can glance at the mileage marker and adjust your mileage with just your left thumb while still on the gas. Also they will warn you of the distance to a possible checkpoint and if you are early or late. The ICO has dropped its price over $100 recently to $299, the Watchdog is still $290 and the Trail Tech is $80. The cool thing with the ICO is if your buddy has one (Al has one I think) he can transfer the trail data to yours. I think the Trail Tech/roll chart is the best way to start because it requires you to use your brain and helps to better understand the art of time keeping.

When you pull into a checkpoint the mileage is posted. I adjust my mileage quickly if it is off slightly and push the button while they are marking my score card. It will mark the checkpoint to the proper mileage in the computer and then your "3 for free" starts again. Remember there cannot be another checkpoint within the next three miles so gas it!

Yeah I got the Watchdog. I have only had a chance to use it once. Hoping I can use it real soon.

Or you can buy a KTM, the computer comes factory installed. Eric, it will match your realy cool orange "outfit"!!!

I'm in for some new places to ride so keep me in the loop. I'm even interested in some of the long distance trips if we can get a group together.
