Well, looks like the BAP crew will be out for Thanksgiving weekend cooking up a storm. I'm planning on bringing out a walk-in smoker pit that has burners and a smoker, which we'll use to fry a couple turkeys, and smoke a few briskets and hams. I'm hoping some of y'all will want to join forces and just make an inordinate amount of food for everybody.
So my question to y'all is how many of you will be out there and be hungry on Saturday. I was trying to get an idea of how much food to plan on cooking. The only other thing we might need help with is side dishes. If anybody wants to volunteer to bring a side dish, that would be awesome. Just let me know what you're thinking about bringing so I can mark it off the list. I will probably make a huge batch of green bean casserole to bathe in because it's so darn good!!!
So, if you're interested, please let me know ahead of time so we can plan ahead.
For Eric: in·or·di·nate (n-ôrdn-t) adj. 1. Exceeding reasonable limits; immoderate. See Synonyms at excessive.

Sounds awsome. we will be out there Wed. night and staying until Saturday night. I will talk to Jennifer and see what we will be bringing. Marc, how many turkeys are you frying Thanksgiving day? I was thinking about brining one out, since the oil will be hot we can cook 2. Let me know, if it is not needed then we can bring something else. Looking forward to a fun weekend.

I'm not sure if everyone has seen this Thanksgiving flier...see attached.
Maybe this event is a good excuse to get out of spending Thanksgiving with one of my ex's... :-)
...I'll probably bring a big batch of roast garlic mashed potatoes for whichever potluck dinner I attend...maybe both...will advise.
A lot will depend on the weather.
cheers
P.S. Brian, it may be better to use the pit by the pavillion(unless yours is bigger) remember the oven does not work in the clubhouse but the pit is big and is nice for reheating food, casseroles, etc...

Brad, for Thursday I'll be frying 1 Turkey and Juliet is planning to smoke 1 Turkey. So you are welcome to put one on the pit or in th pot, your choice. We're planning to be at the Creek all week so we'll see you there.

NOTE TO ALL:
The Texas Holdem Tournament on Friday will be for "FUN ONLY". There will be no cost or payouts, but I'll see if I can arrange 1 giant trophy for the overall winner.
Kenny, you might have a chance at a trophy this time - wait, do you know how to count?

FYI last time i researched it Hold'em "Tournament" cash payout are fine as long as the "House" does not take a "cut" for profit AND the "House" does not hold a TABC license. yeah...i can count cards but that's mostly used for Black Jack... :-p cheers
