Anyone know of a lap record time around the main loop of City Park (not using cheater lines)?

As much as you ride it you should be holding the record. grin

Me and a buddy can do it in about 35 min if we don't stop and BS or anything, no cheater lines. I thought we were pretty good, but then I met a guy out there a couple years ago that was turning in like 24-28 min laps. Claimed he was a pro enduro rider IIRC. Seems like he was riding a CR250.

I should say that those times are in the other direction. I've only ridden it once since the direction change, and it seems like it will be faster now.

I've been riding City Park more frequently lately. I've been going for a clean lap instead of the fastest time. My best is 6 touches taking the hard lines on my CRF230.

I have a couple questions, because its been almost 2 whole years since I rode out there!

I used to be on an xr400 and found it VERY difficult to complete the whole loop, so I stopped going. I really enjoyed it being close, but it just seemed like it was not suited for my bike.

Has the trail conditions improved lately? Are there better "go arounds" for certain sections? I know the game is to try and make it sound bad, so no one comes to your riding spot. But, I just wanna know if I should come give it another try (on a ktm 400exc now)

Thanks all, I think support of an Austin riding spot is a good thing. I buy my OHV decal every year, and didnt even ride a single place that needed it last year.

The city had a volunteer work day out there earlier in the year, where we "legitimized" and clean up some of the bypasses around the rougher stuff. Some of the bypasses can be a little hard to find, as they break off the main trail before or slightly to the side of the main trail. The direction was also flipped during the trail work day.

I was going to try riding out there this weekend. Send me an IM if you'd like me to show you around.

I feel it's easier since the direction has changed. I too would be happy to meet anyone out there to show the way.

I did a 28 minute lap today, no cheater lines. I ran into a guy out there before the direction was flipped and I couldn't keep up with him. He said he used to race in similar but moister terrain in Mexico, so CP was easier! I'm not that fast, so I think a low 20 would be pretty doable for those that are.

thats great to hear. I really enjoy the place, and the location...I just found it difficult on a big bike. My new OHV sticker came in, and my tires should be here by this weekend. I may give it a shot on sunday.

thanks all.
