This track was so good in many ways, it had most every feauture that was offered in the famous SO. Calf track call saddleback other than the large drop offs. It had high speed staights, radical berms, wopdi doo's and cammal hump jumps. I won many mini mini races there and even now I can still draw the track to almost toscall 38 years later. I will always remember my early youth either getting to practice there are racing there. It is a same it is is gone now.

I just stumbled onto this site. Wow does this thread bring nack a flood of memories. I used to race back in the 70's thru 80's. Me and Dean Henriksen used to go to the old Pleasure Island MX Park quite a bit back then. Way cool track. Those were the days.

Tray, Thanks a million for the pictures. Great memories. My first race was there,on my 1975 YZ80B (The beginning of the end of the XR75). I remember Rose Hill alot better. Won my first trophy there. It was owned by the Boswells. I hear Wayne and Curtis are still around, but haven't seen them in years. Rosehill was after The Pier around 1979. My dad would take me to the track on his way to work and drop me, the bike, and trailer off so I could practice. He then would pick me up on his lunch break and take me home. What a great Dad and what great memories...

Golden Triangle Old School Motocross Reunion: If you rode at the Pleasure Island motocross track in the 70’s in Port Arthur Texas, I would like to know if you would be interested in attending a ‘get together”. As of now I am in contact with a few of us that are still around, and we all think it would be a lot of fun to put something together sometime the summer of 2011.
Please email me if you are you know someone that would like to come and join us.

Great idea, especially for geezers like Lawrence Lucia. He will probably need someone to drive him there though and then tell him where he is. LOL!

I had kinda forgot about this post, but was impressed with how it has progressed, the pics are way to cool... This was the 1st track I rode my new yz80 at back in 1976..man those were the days, later on in life I got the chance to ride at saddleback & carlsbad raceway, but some of the best memories I have of riding back then was in Port Arthur, Tx...

I am from Groves and used to race at the Pleasure Island track. I talked to Chris Ihle. He is still into wind surfing, but does not ride any more. I would like to hear what all the Port Neches Groves guys have been up to lately.
