I'm trying to make a week trip out of this on street bike. The plan is to trailer the bike to TX state line then ride from there into Colorado. I'm thinking opportunity at Pike Peak while heading that way too. Camping one night then hotel another if the weather permits. That's the plan anyways...
Johnny, if you ride up, try to make a scenic route involving Hwy 160, 50 and 115. Also, pack some warm close for the Peak. I went up there the first week in August, when it was 90+ in the Springs. It was snowing and cold as h#$% up top. But the view was well worth it.
And Steve, you gonna do any street riding while up there?

No not that trip Josh. Maybe some day when I have a license I will do a trip like that, ha... Hope all is well with you. Love the 950. Fixing to head out for a little road trip this morning with Paul, and Bobby N. Weather's been great here in the mornings lately, so going to take advantage of the cool temps.

Josh, That worry's me about the cold (yikes). The Avg weather said low 40°F to 70°F high that time of year (per Colorado Springs.) I know Pikes Peak will be the exception due to the altitude.

Good times.
got to see almost everyone sometime during the weekend.
Saw Steve and Steve on the flight out. ran into Val and Terri walking around Met Ace standing in line to board the flight home and had a seat next to Paul on the flight.
Great seeing all of you.. wish we could do this and hang out more often.

It was an epic weekend. What a great racing atmosphere, pretty electric. I think I ran into everyone at some point except for Val and Johnny Middleton. Johnny, were you there? Great photos Terri, glad to see you in a few. Ran into Trey Canard at the airport and got to thank him for the USA win. Of course he was so humble he could only talk about how well Dungey rode. Oh yeah, the babe watching was "international"

Yeah... Ace showed me a picture of Terri and a wagon.. something to fact that.. she was a little lit up and had to be towed around.
Missed that part.
Larry.. it was that fun.
side bar.. think I could live in Boulder.. cool little town.. kinda like Austin.. did manage to bar crawl but it was short each nite because.. I'm too old and it was past my bed time.:)
had a few one too many Margaritas Friday nite.. was a little hung over on Saturday.
Boulder fest was going on at the "mall" and the women there are just plain beautiful.. and I mean Plain.. no make up or big hair.. just nicely toned and naturally pretty. didn't see one fat chick except some groupies from England at the mxdn.. didn't hit one fast food restaurant and ate all local restaurants/breweries.
I'm definitely back there for the next national

Drive to Lubbock, Tx, Aunt Micky's (Thursday 9/23/2010). Note: Purchased FIVE trailer tires in the process.
Road trip to Colorado Springs - Garden of the Gods (Friday) Camp night 1
Road trip to Pikes Peak (Saturday) Note: Trip to Denver via back roads/forest was fantastic!!! Thought we snuck into the B trailer storage lot - but it was the drag races trailer storage next door - Hey it was dark! We slept on a flat bed trailer under the stars close to the track quietly not to get caught & kicked out.
MX of Nations Lakewood, Co. (Sunday 9/26/2010) AWESOME FAST!
Road trip to Colorado Springs Hotel sweet!
Road trip to back to Lubbock - Hank decides to go west to Calf. (Monday) We drive Hanks Suburban & trailer bikes from Lubbock.
Lost Suburban in card game to kids just 10 miles out of Brownwood (Tuesday 9/28/2010). Great little BBQ shack!
I had a blast, thanks to Ken and Doug for having me along. Had no idea the event would be that cool, but Red Bull knows how to do it right! After the race, I headed to Durango, which looks like dirt biking heaven (even more so in Silverton).
I wish I could bring this CO weather back w/ me to Austin!
